Job Description
WSP is a global professional services consulting firm providing engineering, environmental, infrastructure and advisory services. The Associate - Hydrogeology role supports the UK Ground and Water project team and involves hydrogeological data management, risk assessment modelling, technical reporting and project delivery.
Qualification
Postgraduate qualification (M.Tech, M.Sc and/or PhD) in Hydrogeology or a hydrogeological discipline. Chartership with an appropriate geoscience organisation is required.
Key responsibilities:
- Communicate and liaise with UK Ground and Water project teams, project managers and directors.
- Undertake bid preparation, resource planning and budget development.
- Line manage and support the professional development of early-career professionals.
- Contribute to recruitment and growth of the GCC Hydrogeology team.
- Manage projects and tasks, including technical, quality, schedule and budget aspects.
- Manage hydrogeological data and develop conceptual models and interpretations.
- Develop source-pathway-receptor linkages and risk assessment models for hydrogeological risk assessments and quantitative risk assessments.
- Work with software including ConSim, LandSim, P20, FeFlow, Modflow and SeepW.
- Prepare and review factual and interpretive reports.
- Delegate work to junior team members and provide appropriate oversight and direction.
- Build client relationships and support successful project outcomes and customer satisfaction.
- Understand UK land contamination regulations and risk-based approaches to contaminated land assessment.
Required experience and qualifications:
- More than 10 years of industry experience is desirable.
- Experience in UK environmental consulting is desirable.
- Postgraduate qualification in Hydrogeology or a related hydrogeological discipline.
- Chartership with an appropriate geoscience organisation.
