This position is listed by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. The role focuses on GIS, remote sensing, satellite and aerial imagery interpretation, and geospatial quality assurance.

Qualification

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.

Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret high-resolution satellite and aerial imagery to identify and classify physical features and changes in the built environment.
- Compare imagery from different dates to identify spatial changes and document observations.
- Validate interpreted features against reference datasets and record discrepancies and uncertainty.
- Digitize, update, and maintain spatial features and attributes using QGIS and/or ArcGIS.
- Assess imagery suitability based on resolution, acquisition date, cloud cover, shadows, and other image-quality factors.
- Perform geospatial quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC).
- Prepare, validate, and manage SHP, KML/KMZ, GeoJSON, GeoTIFF, and other GIS datasets.
- Document analytical methods, observations, quality findings, and project outcomes.
- Prepare maps and analytical summaries for project stakeholders.
- Support project teams in resolving data discrepancies and maintaining consistent interpretation standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 4–5 years of professional experience in GIS, remote sensing, satellite imagery interpretation, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with high-resolution satellite and/or aerial imagery.
- Strong visual interpretation skills and the ability to identify built features, land disturbance, surface characteristics, and changes over time.
- Experience with multi-temporal imagery comparison, change detection, feature validation, and reference-data analysis.
- Proficiency in QGIS and/or ArcGIS.
- Understanding of imagery quality factors and their impact on interpretation confidence.
- Practical experience in geospatial QA/QC.
- Familiarity with common geospatial data formats, including SHP, KML/KMZ, GeoJSON, and GeoTIFF.
- Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet project timelines.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience interpreting urban imagery or mapping the built environment.
- Familiarity with commercial high-resolution satellite imagery providers or imagery platforms.
