Description:

A company based in Knysna, Western Cape, is seeking a Geophysicist with 3–8 years of relevant experience, depending on seniority. The company provides geophysical and geological data services to the mining and mineral exploration industries using technologies mounted on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and drones across Namibia and South Africa.

Qualification

Degree in Geophysics.

Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in Geophysics.
- 3–8 years of relevant geophysical experience.
- Operational and processing familiarity with magnetometers, gradiometers, gamma-ray sensors, EM sensors, transmitters, and other survey equipment.
- Sound understanding of theoretical and practical limitations of geophysical equipment and methods.
- Willingness to travel and undertake field data acquisition when required.
- Ability to generate reports and validate/review deliverables before client submission.
- Inversion and Induced Polarization (IP) experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare geophysical survey projects.
- Process and perform QA/QC on geophysical survey data, including drone-borne magnetic and radiometric surveys and downhole datasets.
- Analyse and interpret geophysical data to identify subsurface structures, lithology, and anomalies.
- Integrate geophysical results with geological, geotechnical, and drilling information.
- Produce maps, models, profiles, technical reports, and client deliverables.
- Provide technical input into drill targeting, site selection, and project planning.
- Contribute to drone-borne survey processes, inversion techniques, and new geophysical technologies.
